If you would like to have during your holiday a unique experience Agriturismo il Giardino and Villa Casalta are able to offer you a chance to relax and have fun! If you are in love with horses and animals, if you would like to try a night time jeep experience, or if you’d like to learn more about the culinary art of Tuscany, with tasting of olive oil and wine or cooking lessons we can help. If you would like to enjoy the panoramic valley of Chianti Rufina you can do so from the saddle of one of our horses or by going to search for truffles accompanied by an expert and specially trained dogs.
With our 9 seat Land Rover Defender we can go and discover the nocturnal animals that live in the woods above our Agriturismo. With a bit of luck you might be able to see wild boars, foxes, weasle, deer, hare, owls, porcupines and hedgehogs. For those instead that would like to enjoy the magnificent illuminated city of Florence, we will drive up to Montegiovi, which is situated at 994 mt above sea level.
For those of you who are passionate about cooking and above all curious about traditional Florentine dishes, for sure you will be interested in our cooking classes. The program shows you how to prepare a full Tuscan menu with hand made pasta dishes, the Agriturismo’s recepie for a delicious ragù and a typical second course with side dish. At the end of the course the partecipants and their family have the opportunity to enjoy the fine lunch prepared during the course. The course lasts approximately 4 hours including time to enjoy the lunch.
The wine is without doubt one of the excellent typical products from Tuscany. When you talk about wine from Tuscany you immediatly think about the area of Chianti, one of the areas most famous for the traditional vineyards and high quality wines. If you are passionate about wine and you’d like an opportunity to try some together with other local products, our Agriturismo is situated in the Valley of Chianti Rufina and therefore in an optimum position from where to visit any of the vineyards surrounding us. By booking it is possible to organize trips to your chosen vineyards in our nine seater Land Rover.
The area around our Agriturismo is rich in mushrooms and truffles; accompanied by our expert guide and his trained dogs you will go to some of the best areas to search for truffles. On returning to Agriturismo we will create a wonderful pasta dish flavoured with the precious findings you will have found during your adventure.
Our two beautiful, calm ponies are looking forward to accompany you and your children during this trip around our Agriturismo and surrounding countryside. Late morning we will leave all together towards Montegiovi with a pack lunch carried by Loredana, our resident donkey, together with our ponies who will carry your children (taking turns). Once we arrive at the picnic area we will enjoy lunch and games in the countryside. On the way back we will visit the frantoio (olive pressing plant) to try the famous bruschetta with our own extra virgin olive oil produced on our farm.
All'interno della nostra azienda è presente un frantoio di ultima generazione visitabile in qualsiasi periodo dell'anno. Da Ottobre a Dicembre sarà possibile partecipare ad ogni fase di lavorazione, a partire dalla raccolta fino alla spremitura. Non mancherà la fettunta - bruschetta all'olio nuovo.
